Temporal Choreographies is an artist meeting initiated by Ruta Butkute. After a first edition in her studio in Amsterdam in November 2023, the second edition of this private event will be hosted by Movement Exposed Gallery Space in Utrecht. Temporal Choreographies II delves into the ideas and development of contemporary artists, united in their interest for process and exchange. Departing from different fields of knowledge and experience – choreography, visual art, performance, writing – they explore the overflowing qualities rising from encounters and collisions between arts and media.
During Temporal Choreographies II artists Ruta Butkute, Nina Glockner & Ayumi Higuchi, Richtje Reinsma and Madeline Stillwell will present work.

ACT I

As part of exhibition Bound at Movement Exposed gallery and my ongoing investigation into the performative aspects of the material. I have decided to organise my first curated private event inviting artists, choreographers, and other art professionals to participate ina short video screening program titled ‘Temporal Choreographies‘ and have a conversation. Participating artists (in the screening program): Kyoco Taniyama, Mella Jaarsma, Natalia Ossef, Ruta Butkute, Madeline Stillwell, Sara Bjarland.
‘In my practice I situate sculpture within a spatial realm shared by time, gesture and bodies in motion. Objects expand outside of modern concepts of autonomy, into a field of related networks of agency that create and aid temporal choreographies’
